Toshi-chan y BB viven en una cabaña con una sábana azul a orillas del río Tama. Como llevan varios años viviendo allí, conocen la zona. Los dos recogen latas en el pueblo desde las 4 de la mañana y duermen a las 7 de la tarde para ahorrar dinero en electricidad por la noche. Aunque no tienen grandes ingresos, no les preocupa especialmente el dinero. Se despreocupan cada día y se enorgullecen de ser hombres sin hogar que pueden mantenerse a sí mismos. Nao, una joven actriz de una pequeña compañía de teatro, visita un día a Toshi-chan y BB. Va a interpretar a una heroína que tiene un gran romance con el líder de los vagabundos en su próxima actuación y pide entrevistarlos. Este es el comienzo de una larga noche para el trío...
