Селіна Д'Арсі - сліпа дівчина, яка виросла і живе серед «білого сміття». Селіна ніколи не ходила в школу. Мати дівчини, Розанна, «підробляє» проституцією, відноситься до дочки майже як до рабині, змушуючи її виконувати найважчу роботу по дому, постійно принижуючи дівчину і піддаючи її побоям. Дід Селін на прізвисько Ол Па, необтесаний алкоголік, що опустився, мало чим може допомогти дівчині. Одного разу Селіна просить діда відвести її на цілий день в парк.
